Do I Need a Permit for a New Concrete Driveway?
City Requirements
Some cities in the Minneapolis metro area require a permit to install or replace a concrete or asphalt driveway. If your city requires a permit, Unlimited Concrete Concepts will submit plans and drawings to the city and pull the permit for you.    Note: Many cities only allow licensed contractors to pull a permit.
Inspections
If a permit is needed there is usually an inspection required. The inspection is done prior to any concrete being poured. The city inspects the distance from the property line and makes sure the percentage of the driveway is not larger than the limit.
Other Permits
Some cities impose axel weight restrictions all year round because their roads were not designed to handle large vehicles. In these cases a special permit is required from the city to allow cement trucks to your property. A separate permit is required for each truck per day.
